Rodney Eade

Rodney Eade is a former AFL footballer and coach of the Sydney Swans, Western Bulldogs and most recently the Gold Coast Suns.

Before donning his coaches hat, Rodney played 259 VFL/AFL games, making his debut for the Hawthorn Hawks at age 18. Known for his blistering speed Eade capped out his debut season by playing in the 1976 premiership team. He went on to play in the Hawks 1978, 1983, and 1986 premierships sides. His time at the Hawks came to a close when he moved to the Brisbane Bears in 1988, playing 30 games before retiring in 1990.

As a Coach, Eade has to date coached 359 games of AFL football. Besides Head Coaching roles with numerous Clubs, he also worked as Director of Coaching at the Collingwood Football Club from 2012-2014.

Rodney is best described as an innovative and strategic coach, tactically minded with a real openness for change. He’s honest and at times direct, traits that will ensure Rocket Files – Coaching Uncut is a candid, informative and entertaining weekly commentary on the AFL.

We’ll serve up informative insights into the game – game day strategies & tactics, game styles of teams along with insights into what coaches are trying to achieve each week. The show aims to educate listeners on the finer intricacies and terminology of the AFL while focusing the spotlight onto the inner workings of the game.
